Two new streets opened in Belgrade Waterfront – Street of Ideas and part of Luka Ćelović Trebinjac Street

The entire 600-metre long Street under the Gazela Bridge and part of the newly built Luka Ćelović Trebinjac Street from Ložionica to the Street of Ideas in Belgrade Waterfront were officially opened for traffic.

With the opening of the section of the Street of Ideas from Mostar to Woodrow Wilson Boulevard, another traffic entrance to Belgrade Waterfront has been opened, so that now the residents and visitors of the most modern neighborhood in Serbia will be able to go directly from the motor road (the former highway through Belgrade) very easily reach the Sava Promenada, since the part of the aforementioned street from Woodrow Wilson Boulevard to Belgrade’s favorite esplanade has been in operation for a long time.

By allowing traffic under Gazela Bridge, access is enabled and arranged to the new fire-rescue facility in the middle of the Street of Ideas in the direction towards Mostar, that after the construction was handed over to the Department for Emergency Situation of the Ministry of Interior by Belgrade Waterfront. A public parking is planned in the area between the future regional centre of the creative industry Ložionica and the Street of Ideas.

Not far from there, in the area between the two branches of this road, right below Gazela Bridge, a modern padel court complex will be opened next weekend (September 28/29). On that occasion, the second Padel Belgrade Open, the biggest tournament in Serbia of the most interesting sport in the world will be held, with participation of as many as 12 teams. In addition to the eight local, teams from Italy, Spain, France and Argentina will also participate.

Part of Luka Ćelović Trebinjac Street – from Ložionica to the aforementioned Street of Ideas – has also been opened for traffic. The part from Nikolaj Kravtsov to Ložionica was previously in operation, so now there is a traffic connection among all facilities in the part next to Gazela and Sava Park, a green oasis in the centre of the city on an area of as many as four football fields.

When all works are completed, the street named after the great Serbian benefactor will stretch from Karadjordjeva Street, i.e. the part where the Belgrade Bus Station is currently located, will run paralell to Savska Street and Woodrow Wilson Boulevard, all the way to the Belgrade Fair.

The street will be about 2 kilometres long and will have one traffic and one bicycle lane in both directions, while in its middle, along the dividing island, there will be saplings of maple, hornbeam and other sorts of trees.

By opening two more streets for traffic, Belgrade Waterfront continues with the infrastructural development of the entire right Sava riverbank and confirms the status of the neighborhood with the best traffic connections in all of Belgrade.
