Maradona through the lens of Serbian photographers

The photo exhibition dedicated to one of the best and most beloved football players in the world, Diego Armando Maradona, will be opened until June 18th at Sava Promenada. The exhibition presents an exclusive selection of photos from the archives of the Argentine news agency Télam, the Serbian agency MN Press, as well as a selection of work from the archives of Serbian photographers Dragana Udovicic and Aleksandar Dimitrijevic.

It summarizes Maradona’s life through legendary photographs, that not only document the moment, but also history and feelings. Maradona had three great loves in his life: his family, football and his homeland Argentina. He also had a special fondness for Serbia after two visits to Belgrade: the first in October 1982, when playing for F.C. Barcelona he scored two goals at the “Maracana” in Belgrade in front of 95,000 spectators, generating a standing ovation. The second visit, in 2005, was during the filming of the documentary about his life by the Serbian filmmaker and musician Emir Kusturica, entitled “Maradona by Kusturica”.

The exhibition is part of “Belgrade Month of Photography” with the support of the Embassy of Argentina in Serbia, Télam Agencia Nacional de Noticias, MN Press and Belgrade Waterfront.
