Belgrade, Serbia; September 27, 2015: Construction has begun on the first two residential buildings at Belgrade Waterfront, the master-planned community situated along the Sava River in Belgrade. A ground-breaking ceremony to mark the occasion was attended by the Prime Minister of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić and Eagle Hills board member Mohamed Alabbar.
“This innovative project is the first step in defining our vision for the future and defining Serbia’s path towards progress and development, becoming a modern-day country. The Belgrade Waterfront project will not only revitalize Belgrade, but it will also help our city take its place as an attractive investment destination and put it on the map as one of the leading regional cities,” the Serbian Prime Minister said at the ground-breaking ceremony.
BW Residences, the first phase of residential apartments in Belgrade Waterfront, will feature two towers overlooking the Sava River and the recently completed Sava Promenade. The towers draw on the architectural heritage of Belgrade and will combine the area’s historic design in a modern development.
To mark the completion of the Sava Promenade, a host of activities and events are taking place along the promenade until mid-October. Visitors and residents can enjoy an extensive entertainment programme starting September 27, including everything from fashion shows, a Lego exhibition, dance and acrobatic performances, arts and craft workshops, live concerts and DJs, various markets and a wide selection food trucks.
There will be plenty for the whole family to enjoy during this period with dedicated kids activities including; sports, playtivity and music workshops. Upon completion of Belgrade Waterfront, the Sava Promenade will boast many family-friendly attractions including a floating water platform, children’s play area and an amphitheater below the Old Sava Bridge. In addition, the area will provide pedestrian spaces outdoors. The activities and events taking place provide a sneak peek of what life on the promenade will be like.
