The exhibition “Seascapes” by Sava Pekovic will be opened on Monday, October 18, starting at 7 pm in the BW EXPERIENCE space, on the second floor of the Galerija shopping center.
“The creation of one painting has to do with the desire to transfer something to the painting. I have the energy that drives me, which threaten me if I do not turn it into a painting. This explains my need to work constantly. If I don’t work constantly, if I don’t have that energy or if I don’t transform that energy into a painting, so that I can see the result, then that energy would turn against me, and the expression that is recognizable in the painting would have in a sense a dangerous meaning for me”, said the author.
Savo Peković graduated from the Faculty of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1981 at the Department of Painting, and then received his master’s degree from the same faculty in 1983. He has been a member of ULUS since 1982, while he acquired the status of a prominent artist in 2004. He has exhibited in 45 solo and about 300 group exhibitions in the country and abroad. His paintings are in public and private collections. He is a full professor at the Academy of Fine Arts in Trebinje, University of East Sarajevo.
The exhibition is organized within the program of the Art Initiative BW KvArt together with the Štab Gallery and will be open until October 28, 2021. The working hours of the gallery are every day from 11 am to 9 pm, and the entrance is free.
