Exhibition “Ripple – Relaxation – Circling” at KvArt BW

The exhibition “Ripple – Relaxation – Circling” by the artist Dušanka Komnenić will be opened on Monday, June 6, at 8 pm in the KvArt BW exhibition space, on the second floor of Galerija.

Visitors will have the opportunity to see photographs and accompanying video work through which the artist connects real and imaginary, objective and intimate. Irina Tomić sees Dušanka Komnenić’s photographs as photo allegories, emphasizing that these works are not created from one frame but from several collaged shots.

Dušanka Komnenić graduated from the Department of Applied Graphics – Photography at the Academy of Applied Arts in Belgrade in 2001, in the class of prof. Bane Karanović. She received her master’s degree in 2003 from the Peck School of the Arts, UW-Milwaukee, USA, and her doctorate in 2005 from the same university. In 2015, she defended another doctoral thesis at the Faculty of Art and Design in Belgrade, on the topic of “Beauty in Anti-aesthetics”, under the mentorship of prof. Miloš Šobajić. She has been a member of ULUS since 2008. So far, she has organized 20 solo and over 40 collective exhibitions in the country and abroad.

The exhibition “Ripple – Relaxation – Circling”, organized by Galerija Štab and the KvArt BW cultural and artistic initiative, will be open until June 16, 2022, and the working hours of the KvArt BW gallery are every day from 11 am to 7 pm. The entrance is free.
